CO2 on Paintball Guns
Since the time that the paintball emerged, CO2 has been the original gas source used in the game. Paintball guns used CO2then it was improved and CO2 tanks that could be refilled. These tanks are less expensive compared to the cartridges. However, its downside is that they use liquid carbon dioxide in filling the tanks. Then, the liquid must be turned into gas to provide the power to the paintball guns. It needed heat, that’s why using CO2 turn cold when you shoot it. Thus, if there is no heat available at all, the liquid-gas conversion will never happen. This could causethe gun to be inconsistent with regards to accuracy and distance.
Compressed Air on Paintball Guns
Today, compressed air (Nitrogen) is used in paintball today. Sometimes, they are called “Nitro” tanks due to the reason that the air we inhale also have nitrogen. Here are some advantages of using compressed air:
- The tank is filled with normal air.
The tank can withstand high pressure with the use of a compressor to fill it. Also, the air is in its usable form. Hence, there is no need for heat since it doesn’t need liquid-gas conversion to fill the tanks.
- The regulators used are adjustable.
These allow the users to adjust the pressure for a different type of guns.
- Paintball markers are more consistent and not really affected by temperature.
Compressed air is immune to cold temperatures thus, it provides more consistency compared to CO2.
However, the cost of compressed air is way more expensive. But if you are a regular player, it would be worth it since it provides better performance and accuracy. Having the best paintball gun, you should try using compressed air for a better experience and more enjoyable game play.
