Rotarian puts best foot forward to end polio

Kim DeBroux has a hot date next Saturday. Her date is sure to be hot. He'll be engaged in walking all the way from Tijuana to Vancouver. He'll meet up with Kim in Newport Beach while trudging through his three-month journey.

Why's a guy walking all that way and why is he meeting with Kim?
The answer is to raise some $1 million for the favorite charity of both.

Nathan Auerback is the 26-year-old from Coto de Caza who is making the grueling hike.

Both are heavily involved in a program sponsored by Rotary to end polio around the world. Kim's raised $1,000 from the members of her Rotary Club. She'll give it to Nathan when he stops in Newport Beach while on his trek to Canada.

Visiting some 100 Rotary Clubs along his 2,2000 mile journey, Nathan says he'll spend 100 days on his trip "and wear out at least three pairs of shoes."
